Congratulations, Israel!
I don't know whether Syeikh Ahmad Yassin was a 'terrorist leader', or whether he was good, or evil.
I do know he was human, and what I saw when I looked at him was an old man in a wheelchair.
I do believe that it's not 'justice' when you murder an old man in a wheelchair who's just finished his prayers.
I do know that buzzwords such as 'pre-emptive strike' and 'war on terror' are poor excuses for committing wholesale murder.
I thought that in a 'democratic' state, people are guilty until proven innocent, and I thought Israel professed to be a democratic state.
Does this then mean, that if another state brands Ariel Sharon a terrorist leader and Israel a terrorist state, that that other state is perfectly justified in murdering Mr Sharon as he steps out of his synagogue?
Congratulations, Israel- you've just about proven your 'commitment' to peace and democracy in the Middle East.
Al-Fatihah.
