Back by popular demand and brought to you by BOIW and she of the magnanimous pyramids, your mission today is to thank whatever Gods you believe in that you don't have to suffer through the following horrors. On a daily basis.
And if we are indeed in the same boats then my question is, is there some sort of therapy group for this?
Enjoy! (The following section contains no typos whatsoever. I checked. Letters and words in bold were pronounced in the order they occurred)
Heard regularly (or as the BOIW would say, regurarry) during meetings:
- It's bounds to happen!
- We have to loosen our grips
- We have to make it crips
- It appeared out of the blues
- Lots of craps happened...
(This, mind you, was said during an official meeting, during an official presentation, in front of official visitors. I'm assuming then, that we're all within our rights to exclaim "You're talking craps!" during meetings)
- On the hindsight...
- We will lookt on the proposal...
- When they coming up with the proposal...
Lexical Mysteries, aka Ms Malaprop wuz 'ere aka 'Huh?'
- We cannot undermean their authority
- Don't do it alont
- It's very freevalent. In the Philiffines
- We don't use those anymore, they're so old, their practically archive
- For this experiment, who wants to be the genie pig (I suppose this particularly magical species can be found in Papua New Genie)
And last but definitely not least, how could I forget (thanks to silent contributors for reminding me):-
- It's a different kettlefish altogether (probably originated from the same region as the genie pig above)
BOIW-perpetrated howlers
Apart from the usual assortment of confused tenses, misplaced plurals and problems with her 'unique' accent, the BOIW 'regurarry' commits the following crimes against the English 'ranguage':-
- "I am not agreed (For the love of grammar, will someone either knock her on her head or tell her that 'agree' and its accompanying tenses are not, repeat, not nouns?! Of course you can't be agree, you're barely human!)"
- "I have temporary assigned..."
- "Today meeting/ Yesterday discussion/ Yesterday evening discussion meeting"
-"Please include measure follow-up
Sigh. I just hope these horrors are not contagious, like some especially virulent type of fungus.
