The Smoke

I'm...shaken.

I think I'm more shaken than I was during 9-11. I've never been to New York, you see.

It's disconcerting, you know? I'm not a Londoner (nor, I hope, affected enough to think of myself as one simply because I spent half my university years there), but I like London. And I know it.

And I especially know the Circle Line. At least twice a month, I'd get off the train at King's Cross, get on the tube to Edgeware Edgware (sorry, Marisa!) Road, very near to where she is (Woman, thank God you and yours are ok). Or sometimes I'd alight at Euston Square to get to Hannah's place. And Liverpool Street was where the War Against Iraq protest march started.

And so many other things. The 'What ifs' are mind-boggling. what if this happened two years ago? What if Michael hadn't gone in to work early? What if this wasn't the summer holidays?

Thank God everyone I know and care about is safe.

Thank God.

Get well soon, London. We're all rooting for you.
