Do I dare Disturb the universe?
I know I owe Mins that Nostalgia Meme thing, but dredging up old memories would take ages. Plus, what do I leave out from the synopsis of my illustrious life? Hurhurhur. So Mins, you'll have to be patient and wait for the Reminiscences of the Anal Retentive Kindergartener-Geek Teenager-Know-it-all Who Would Become Mother Of The Princess Of The Universe.
An opportunity has presented itself- an opportunity that's just right for me, but as always, with a catch- the timing is completely off. As always though, when I'm faced with the 'fun' of making decisions, it made me think of this stanza from The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock, one of my favourite poems of all time- pretentious in parts, and too-clever-by-half; just like me:-
And indeed there will be time
To wonder, “Do I dare?” and, “Do I dare?”
Time to turn back and descend the stair,
With a bald spot in the middle of my hair—
[They will say: “How his hair is growing thin!”]
My morning coat, my collar mounting firmly to the chin,
My necktie rich and modest, but asserted by a simple pin—
[They will say: “But how his arms and legs are thin!”]
Do I dare
Disturb the universe?
In a minute there is time
For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse
